Good I Product: Towing Items and Winches

Almost fits my 12k Badlands Cargo winch but I had to buy 5 1/2 inch bolt to replace the old roller bolt because C-frame clamps didn't fit with this addition. Costs an additional $15 for Grade 8 screws and fasteners.

Pros
  • Pleasing
Cons
  • Almost OK

Easy way to mount the license plate on the front of the jeep

This mount worked perfectly allowing us to mount the license plate on the front of our jeep. We had roller pins with a retaining ring, so we bought and replaced them with two 5/8" bolts, 5.5" long, and nuts and locknuts to hold them in place. The plate is also easy to attach.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Not Exactly Bolt-on

This project is cheap enough but doesn't fit directly. Screws on the front of this plate prevent the license plate from sitting flush. The screw holes don't match either. Expect to have to drill out the number plate a bit to get it to fit (not perfect). Next time I'll probably pay more for something new.

Good product, good quality, check your measurements

I would have liked more product information including dimensions. Every clew is different and does not match mine and there is no detailed instruction for intended installation. If I can't find one that fits better, I'll have to change it. In Colorado the temporary plates are only in the back, but once I have the permanent plate in place I should have the front as well.

Good price but not a perfect fit

I was missing one of the threaded inserts for the license plate screw. Bit of a shame but I had 3 more to hold the license plate. The holes for the Roller Fair Leash were about 1/4 inch from me. It fits but bends a little. It works despite being a fraction of the cost of other brands, so I agree. It's really just holding the plate so the person isn't behind me and popping up when it's wind time, which he's doing.

Good quality of materials but some design flaws

Works well, quality materials and overall I'm happy with my end result. But it took a long time to get there which was very disappointing. It seems to me that most buyers will need the class 8 screws required for mounting to the rail, so including them is much more convenient than trying to find the exact hardware needed. I was able to get them locally at Fastenal for about $13, so factor in that extra cost and hassle. The spring grips holding it over the fairlead adjust for the distance…

Fits a classic ARB winch bumper with bottom snap rings

A lot of people complain about the quality of the hardware that comes with it. I was more concerned about whether it would fit my 80 series ARB winch bumper. It actually worked great with the bottom snap rings on the roller bars. I haven't seen any installation instructions so here are my suggestions. You will need the following tools: snap ring pliers, 8mm socket, 4mm allen key, Phillips screwdriver and 5/16 bit. I removed the bottom snap rings and installed the bracket. Then I installed the…
