Had to return due to frame rate issues, it's just unacceptable to falsely advertise like this. I got 2 of these at once and both had the issue. I never write reviews but this is pretty depressing. Bright beautiful colors, easy connection and matte display. My "Samsung" light doesn't work, no volume (it doesn't matter to me) BUT IT DOESN'T GO to 60Hz mode as it's an extended screen from a MacBook Pro via HDMI or even by itself . The monitor is excellent in terms of image quality for work or play. The downside is the design of the popup menu. Menus are accessed via a rubberized touchpad under the front of the monitor and are very uncomfortable to use. You can come dangerously close to damaging the screen while trying to stabilize it when you press the buttons. Even if you don't like automatic pop-up menus, this monitor will drive you crazy. I bought two of these for my work and they work great. The colors are ok. I didn't have any problems with the brightness, but my monitors face away from the windows so they don't get glare. I think they're around 250 or 300 nits of brightness, which is usually low (many monitors are 400 or 500, smartphones are currently 1000+). I have six now. immaculate. I use 3 in the setup for my MacBook. 3 at home and 3 at the office and my 16" MacBook back and forth. It remembers my configurations and just works great.

1) This is a very dim display (check out the specs - only 250 nits). In comparison, the standard built-in MacBook display has a brightness of 500 nits - twice as bright. You can see the difference. This is a very clear, bright and accurate color monitor. It's big enough to split the screen and use both displays easily. The only downside is that the onscreen controls are at the bottom of the screen, almost impossible to use.

In general, Samsung has good products, this is not one of them. The brightness of the screen is so low that I can't see anything, I can't use it. I went through the steps with Samsung and couldn't fix it. I would NOT recommend purchasing this particular product. I see that others have encountered the same problems.

I spent more than an hour playing around with different settings and new drivers and the monitor still has terrible resolution. Refunds In addition, a refund is not possible after more than one week. DO NOT BUY!

Update April 2022: I've used it quite a bit while my wife and I worked from home and it still works great. Dust aside I can't tell it apart now from what we had 9 months ago. People read reviews about the "bad" parts - when they do, I just don't like that in portrait mode the viewing angle seems to be up and down to me causing a little blurring of contrast. USB C worked like a charm and now I don't need dongles and no extra cable for power, it turns itself on when the Macbook hears sound, which isn't great but suits a home office monitor.

I bought 3 of these and they are all awkward to use. They're remarkably consistent about being terrible. That's my feedback.

I bought this to use as a third screen on my 2019 MacBook model. I was told the USB-C power is 90W, which is what my MacBook uses.
