📱 Samsung BN59-01185A Remote Control: Convenient and Reliable Universal Device Controller Review

I bought this remote control on 01/21/20 and it already stopped working. It worked fine for about a month and then started having problems until it stopped working altogether. I tried to get a cheaper aftermarket unit but bought the OEM unit for more reliability. It didn't turn out exactly that way and I can't find a way to get a guarantee.

Our 2 year old thinks throwing things is the funniest thing, which is why most of the remote controls in our house break. Unfortunately he also broke the remote control for our 55" Samsung Ultra HD TV when it was only a few months old. Luckily Amazon has it. It's an exact match and it worked great once we synced it to the TV had.

Fits my TV but they did not send the EXACT build shown in the picture. Now I know this is a minor complaint but I ordered this because the red, green, yellow and blue buttons (as shown in my picture) are different. One of them should be the 3D on/off switch that I need for my TV. Too much hassle to go through the return process so I'll use it, just think they should have a more accurate picture.

I bought this to replace my original remote. It worked as expected for a while, but eventually the remote pointer stopped working or worked intermittently. Over time, the buttons claimed to behave the same way. During the game it became clear that something was draining the batteries. Inserting new batteries temporarily provides full functionality, but only for about a week. After about 6 battery changes I finally gave up and went with a regular remote control.

This was a replacement for the remote control that came with my Samsung TV. Identical in all respects except perhaps a specific part number.
