Great wide angle lens for A6000

I've been using this lens for about 6 months and I can safely say it's one of my favorite lenses I've used. Originally I have Bought this lens for my Sony A6000 for a trip to Japan as I was expecting to see narrow streets and tall buildings. The 12mm focal length and F2.0 aperture is such a great combination that it never stopped capturing what I wanted and what I had in mind, rain, light Looking at the photos at night they are surprisingly sharp around f4.0 and even at f2.0 you only see a…

Pros
  • 98.9 degree / 18mm FOV (equivalent to 35mm

So far I couldn't be happier with it. Bought for an upcoming trip to Switzerland. My new Sony a6000 is great but it comes with f3.5 lenses and I'm used to f1.7 from my previous camera (Panasonic LX100 which is also a great travel camera). I was a little nervous about the manual lens. However, as mentioned by others, I found this to be almost no problem. It's sharp from 3m to infinity and I set it to f8 and just left it alone for normal daytime use. So far I've liked it and I know it works well…

Pros
  • Fast f/2.0 Benefits of maximum aperture Low light performance
Cons
  • dim

This is clearly a landscape and architecture lens and when the lens is set up for that purpose it performs very well. But as soon as you try to use it for different scenarios, its shortcomings become very apparent. CONS: 1) Manual focus lens: pretty much means that the entire fast moving image is…
