It's a thing! I've used soda but not now.

If you're trying to restore old auto parts (old dirty bikes in my case), this 70-100 glass bead is for you. It makes old oxide/corroded aluminum look like new without damaging the substrate. It's also great for removing dirt from screws. Note that this removes the extra thin gold plating from the hardware. Put this central Chinese pneumatic media stand to work! I! Pulls great through the siphon tube and I use a crappy compressor that's really underpowered for a media blast booth.

Pros
  • MADE IN THE USA: Our blasting sand is manufactured and packaged in the USA.
Cons
  • Crumpled
