Some strong flaws

Usage matters. I'm using this as a bedside alarm so I'm not accounting for kitchen functions. I go to bed with music, so an adjustable sleep timer is a must. Since it is a bedside device, I play the music quieter. At lower volumes, I find the sound quite full and the radio has decent reception. I like the adjustable display brightness - basically it goes from dark to very, very bright. The device is a bit large, but thanks to its vertical design it doesn't take up too much space on your bedside

Perfection in bed!

My daughter wanted a real alarm clock for Christmas 2011 so the search began. I looked at different clocks, clock radios, docking systems and so on. It had all the features I was looking for plus a small size to fit on my bedside table. Eight months of use has proven it to be a good choice and she enjoys using it. There are two alarm clocks with memory, so she has one for weekdays, the other for weekends. The alarm sound is your preference and will get louder until you turn it off. We bought…

Great stuff!

I'm not a professional music lover but I appreciate good sound and I sincerely want to say thank you for all the previous reviews on this product! I was completely unfamiliar with the Sangean, but while shopping for a new radio/clock for my newly renovated (and amazing looking bathroom) I stumbled upon this little gem. Although I spent a little more than I intended, the K-200 is worth every penny. This is my morning routine radio in my bathroom, which I would call "compact". This machine…

Works well for clock radios in the kitchen and bedside

The Sangean K-200 is so easy to use that I didn't refer to the manual for my first test. Time set, presets set, cable antenna connected and done. I haven't read anything about "mood light" or what you might call a night light. What amazes me about the K-200's marketing and design is that it wants to be two things in one: a kitchen radio. and clock radio by the bed. Does this hybrid compromise one function over another? Overall I would say no. The features don't conflict in any major way, except

Great sound, not the best for bedside alarms

I have both this model and the Sangean RCR-5 (and this review has been published). The K-200 has great sound quality and takes up less bedside space, but the RCR-5 is better in almost every other way that matters to me; Much better that the K-200 has been moved to our office/tailor shop and I now use the RCR-5 as my daily alarm clock and radio. Here's my take on why the RCR-5 is so much easier to use than the K-200. (1) Physical raised buttons for power on/off and changing presets. The RCR-5's…
