The glowing part is much smaller than a dime. I also had to hang them in bright light for 24 hours before they glowed enough to see in the dark. I bought these thinking I could use them on a hike to find my bags in the dark. Not sure if they will glow enough if kept in the back of my van and not getting a light there. I haven't tried yet. But the tiny size alone is very disappointing.
