Easy to use electrical sensor and ACCURACY!

IF it says current is flowing then there is definitely a live wire. I have a few other sensors, but I really like this one and I personally "think" you'll like it too, especially if you like doing things by yourself. Now I have two. One in my house and one in the garage. YES SIR. I would buy again. Hope this helps someone.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • slightly snapped

Best on the market

Not very durable. I've dropped many of these, but I'm an electrician so I use it every day and that can be a reason for mishandling in attics and in basements. I have tried other brands and am very disappointed in them. I trust them the most and wouldn't buy anything else. There are no buttons. There's no sensitivity setting to give you the false sense that it's off.

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • Zero

I have one of these and a small tool for the same purpose. I feel safe with the Santronics as it doesn't have any "modes" to change or wonder what voltage it's set to. Just plug it into the socket or wipe the wire and it lights up! I also have hearing loss and the piezo buzzers are hard to hear at times, but I can hear the Santronics signal.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Weight

Works better than most

This voltage tester works better than other brands I've had. This is the second model I have purchased from this manufacturer. Easy to use, no on/off switch. When it detects a voltage field, it beeps and lights up. With all these voltage testers, you need to know when they might be lying to you. As with all of this, it will sometimes tell you the power is on when it isn't. It can pick up static electricity or sense current from a wire near it. Even if your circuit shares the neutral wire with…

The best I've used.

Bought about a year ago and I hit it at work. Stay in my vest all day Monday through Friday. Proper reading requires contact, which some consider a bad thing. I prefer this because it's good when you have a junction box full of wires and most sensors only light up in close proximity to the wires with no accuracy. The only thing that bothers me is the sometimes weak contract that the internal battery has. So when it chirps weakly, touch it with your hand and it immediately clears and starts…

  • Nothing

If you own a home you will do all kinds of electrical remodeling I think if you are not afraid of electricity like adding switches, lights, changing outlets, whatever. Of course, when you do all of this, turn off the switch that you think is powering the area you're going to be working on. Well, sometimes this is not the case. Yes, you turn off the switch for the specific light you're working on, but guess what? There are also wires connected to other switches that are not turned off, they are…

Best voltage tester made in USA

Everyone knows how annoying NCVTs can be. The cheap ones work but are unreliable and sometimes stop working. I have taken several NFPA courses and the electrical instructor recommended the Santronics 3115 tester as it is the only one that is OSHA approved. I received it and it's great. But NCVT audio is useful too, and the Santronics 3000 fills the bill. It's just as accurate and robust as the 3115 and doesn't have any of the crazy bells and whistles of more "sophisticated" devices. Santronics…
