COULD be plated but the base metal bit appears to be of extremely poor quality.

I finally had a break from the weather as well as free time to do some small projects around my house and it took me less than 5 minutes to use one of the step caps and shear off the entire first step in the metal that I drilled out. (That's the handle of a shovel, by the way.)

waste of money! for industrial drill

A complete waste of money, he drilled a hole and roasted. I tried to drill a hole in the kitchen sink to fit a hand soap dispenser and barely got through. I know they work best when wet or with oil due to the heat, I used oil and it didn't matter. Next time I'll pay more for a high quality, big name bat. Also, I'm no hobbyist, I've done this many times for faucets and hose sprayers, I needed a new nozzle and I tried this one, it just didn't work. It seems to have worked for a lot of other…

Good deal for three non-SAE stages.

I wanted a larger step drill bit for my screwdriver/hex bit. It was a great prize for all three. The quality was ok for drilling. I had an issue with the largest nozzle and it wasn't done right, and the hex end was poorly done and didn't fit any of the hex connectors. I solved the problem by sharpening the shank a bit on the grinding wheel and drilled in 10 minutes. The other 2 bits were ok. All three drills drilled well and were sharp. The bits are marked in mm not SAE but the price doesn't…
