Works better than Halco

Satco works longer than Halco so far. These two brands are the only ones I could find that put out 4200 lumens/65 watts. Halco bulbs worked for 3-4 months and then died. It's still going strong.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No results

Not pretty but great bright light

When we were building our house I asked the electrician to install some lights in the garage. He recommended them over what I was considering. They take about a minute to reach full brightness but what a great solution. My garage has light everywhere I need to work. They're a little pricey, but they're worth it. I highly recommend. Note, however, that the first time you install the bulb, it will take about 2 minutes for the tube to fully light up. It takes less than a minute to light up from…

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Cannot live more than 6 months.

Bought four in the last two years. I use them in an outdoor wall light with a photocell. They are bright enough to illuminate a large area of the yard. I live in Texas where the summer heat is harsh outdoors and unfortunately these bulbs can't handle it. They only last about 6 months after turning on at dusk and turning off at dawn. In just 6 months of use they have cost me more money than I saved on electricity by giving up my mercury lamps. So I won't buy any more of these and will use LED…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Can't remember
