I wanted to use less watts for my outdoor lighting than the 13W/GU24 CFL base that came with the fixture. I don't know why, but that particular GU24 pin base of that particular bulb doesn't fit securely in that lamp. It looks the same, but doesn't mount and connect properly. It's loose and wobbly so doesn't stay plugged in to catch fire. Who would have thought that there were problems with a lightbulb? Edit - After some struggle a strong friend finally managed to get this to work.

This is an unusual lamp for unusual applications. The lamps are designed for a minimum overall length. I would suggest measuring the maximum length that will fit in your fixture and buying the largest bulb that will fit, regardless of the recommended wattage. Come on, these lightbulbs generate almost no heat and none of them use much electricity. However, a slightly longer lamp of the same design gives off much more light.
