I couldn't find any authentic Japanese-made prototypes quickly, so based on general feedback I ordered this one. Well I should have known. The box illustrates how not to feed your baby these toys. First impressions are good. Great packaging, super cute product. I could understand why they were so popular. My 1 star rating is due to some oily leeches oozing out of them. They felt good when opened - not wet, sticky or oily. I noticed when my kids opened 2 or 3 which they put on a table that had some papers on it, dark circles spread out from each soft one. I unfolded the rest and put them on a box to see if everyone felt the same - the pictures don't lie - I don't know where they're coming

I put a star because 0 stars is impossible! When I opened the main pack which contains all the individually wrapped squishes I noticed a horrible chemical smell. I only opened 1 stuffed animal. that was all it took. The chemical smell coming from this toy was awful! They also have a greasy/oily residue that transfers to everything it touches. I have washed my hands many times and I still smell the chemicals on my hands. I would post a photo of what I opened but I won't smell that awful smell…
