The previous version of the Peregrine Falcon (8) was more of a runner, but this one (Peregrine Falcon 10) is more of a sloppy workaholic. Feels like a Brooks Beast with an added plastic shell that supports the heel. If you roll this shoe sideways, the liner appears to slip off the outer and you lose momentum entirely. The outsole is also less grippy than the Peregrine 8, so it slides off rocks. To be clear, 8 had issues (the only longevity) but 10 is a drag in the wrong direction for the wander

Excellent Shoes on Shoes

I've finally moved from thinking that you need heavy boots for long hikes to these lightweight shoes, and I'm so glad I did. I've been wearing regular Saucony sneakers for a while and they fit me really well. These trail running shoes are no exception. They have great ankle support and the GTX is no joke. I haven't ridden downhill much, but an extra 1/2 size (12.5 for me, a rarity!) is very helpful. I did one 6 mile and two 10 mile hikes three days after I got them and I had no leg fatigue orโ€ฆ

Trail running shoe that does its job well

I had a pair of Hoka One One Clifton shoes and they performed well due to trail abuse. I walk on roots, granite and loose gravel, after about 10 months the shoes ripped and a tear tore a hole in my left boot. It's time for a new pair. Seeing that I was bound to this place for the next year, I decided to get some proper trail running shoes. I tried on the Peregrine Falcons and they are surprisingly snug. I had a blister on my ankle and the new shoes made the sore a little worse but I'd like toโ€ฆ

Not worth the money!

I am a pedestrian. I rarely run, I don't run because of my knees. I have used Saucony shoes from time to time over the years with mixed results and the photo accompanying this review is an example of why I have decided to stop using Saucony products. They are of inconsistent quality and the last two pairs of shoes I've had this year (including this pair) don't last very long and are of very poor construction. Sales of this pair of Peregrine 10 could not even run for a month. I purchased thisโ€ฆ

Saucony Peregrine 10 rating

Saucony has gone retro with this model. I bought a pair of version 8 sneakers and they changed the shoe so much that I couldn't use it. The heel was too wide for technical descents and fast switchback turns. It was a far cry from versions 1-7 above. However, I did a short (8+ miles) trail run this morning. I swear I thought I was walking in a pair of 4's or 5's. Just the right amount of cushioning (not so much that you lose the "feel" of the surface) and the infamous Saucony stone slab that Iโ€ฆ
