Really super sharp German steel knives - they come in a very attractive block of wood and each knife looks like a work of art. They are extremely sharp and there is a knife for every size and purpose in the kitchen. These knives are really good. They all arrived in excellent condition and are very sharp. They fit well into the block and have good grip even when wet. The handle is made of very strong plastic which took some getting used to but now I really like them. I wish her santoku was either bigger or the one that came with it was bigger, but the chef's knife needs to be in place. I highly recommend this set!
