Beware! The spool broke on the second use.

I bought this one because it costs more and had good reviews so I said why not this time I will take another one because this one broke the second time it literally broke the spool, just broken so I'm writing this review - don't try to send it back - not worth the hassle - I'll just buy another one, wouldn't recommend this crap

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Some little things

Just used this morning and works great! This very professional leader has a thick roll and a soft ankle bandage with flexible joints. I don't know much about leashes but for under $20 this leash seems very well made and worth the money. I was concerned that the line would be flimsy for a 12ft paddleboard but after testing this morning I would highly recommend this line.

Checked: Sport

I have had many leashes over the years. Now I use them for standing rows. We bought a pair of these two years ago and they hold up better than any previous product. Stainless steel swivels in particular are clearly made of good material (there are many types of stainless steel and some are not suitable for use in salt water). Always think of the leash as a safety feature with the SUP. I've swum many times in calm conditions only to change everything, sometimes abruptly - I got distracted. The…

Use this leash with my paddleboard

The Coast Guard recommends using a coiled leash on paddleboards. However, I have used both types. I prefer to relax on a longboard for good reasons. I used SBS on my surfboard so the whole family can enjoy the water too. Mostly calm and small waves and snow-white water. They like to ride them to the beach. The SBS Leash gives them the security they need to pick up the board if it falls off, and the coil line can help prevent tangling around your ankles, which can sometimes happen. It's good for

Good quality but not worn on the calf only on the ankle

The leash appears to be well made for the money but only time will tell how durable it is. Everything about this leash is smaller/thinner than the comparable Dakine Leash - most annoying is the ankle strap which only fits around the ankle but is too short for a calf (and no, I don't have big ankles or calves). , actually have a slimmer/lanky body, including legs). The cable is thinner and possibly shorter (hard to tell since it's twisted). In hindsight I should have spent a little more on a…

Surfing could be better

The pad under the ankle strap is too short. I don't have massive ankles and the padding doesn't fully enclose my ankle. This keeps most of the strap in direct contact with your ankle/skin. Add some beach sand to a nylon strap and suddenly you have a recipe for discomfort and abrasion. Simply adding an extra four or five inches of padding to wrap the ankle completely under the strap solves this problem for most people and greatly improves user experience, quality, and functionality. The leash is

Highly recommended when surfing

I like this leash. Ordered based on the reviews and was not disappointed. We paddle flat water on an inflatable SUP. The problem is that we paddle a lot of boats and jet skis so there are times when we crash. This weekend was one of them. After a bad fall, my friend said the leash was our best investment. This kept him connected to the paddle and his life jacket, which were on the board. It's very convenient, it never bothers and you don't really know it's on. The only comment I have is that as
