I used to frame niches which was labor intensive and required thick packaging which is not a clean job. This product saves time and is a much more accurate and accurate method.

Schlueter-Kerdi panels together form a beautiful system. The 30 x 30 cm niche is an integral part of a complete shower enclosure: like all Kerdi panels, it is easy to assemble and can be tiled immediately after installation. It has NO forward inclination. A bit expensive (like all Schlueter products).

I think I received an item that was previously sent to someone else. It had some wrinkled edges and one corner wrinkled. You read a lot and watch a lot of Kermit videos and when you get it you realize it's just another niche of rigid foam - nothing special. I think the state of the niche affected my overall experience.

VERY DELIGHTED PURCHASED ANOTHER NICHE FOR RENO LAST YEAR THAT WAS A PLASTIC BOX. IT'S JUST FOAM AND REALLY COST MORE THAN I PAID FOR A GOOD LAST YEAR. IT IS UNKNOWN HOW LONG THIS WILL TAKE ON THE LONG JOURNEY. SUGGEST BUYING SOMETHING OTHER THAN A CHEAP $55 FOAM BOX.

I continue to use Kerdi waterproofing solutions although they remain expensive options. For a niche I can easily and quickly put combinations side by side horizontally or vertically with good alignment. You need to carefully cut the tile around a fixed size for it to fit snugly, but in my opinion it's easier to build a niche by hand. The rules on Curdie's interface really alleviate alignment problems, too.

I bought two of these for my new shower setup. I was planning on building them myself out of 2x4s and hardbakers, but decided to take a chance. They are extremely easy to use and saved a lot of time. I took off one star because they are too expensive at €50. But I've found that this applies to all the Schluter-Kerdi products I bought for this project. Good material and time will tell if they remain waterproof but very expensive.

The product description says the outer (rough) dimensions of the alcove are 18 x 17.3 x 4.4 but I have a 12 x 12 alcove obtained with a draft niche of 16 x 16. I had already prepared a rough hole for the shower remodel and when I received the product I was unpleasantly surprised to see that what I received was actually only 16 x 16 rough dimensions. I had to redo the shower niche to match the actual dimensions of the product. I'm not sure if I received the wrong product or the product…

The rough outer flange of this unit is 16 x 16 [body OD 13 x 13] (as shown in the pictures), NOT 18" x 17.3 or whatever they are listed.
