put Continental 4000 sII tires on

I just installed these tires on my new Aeroad CF SLX 8.0 DISC DI2. Did two rides for a total of 100 miles, hit a rock in the back and got a flat tire that just shot all the sealant onto the pavement. Now if I try to inflate the tire to over 20psi, the air and sealant will just spill out of the tiny hole. In comparison, I typically do 1500-2000 miles without these issues on Continental 4000 sII tires. Thinking it was a bad batch, I tried the same model from my LBS and a competitor. They all…

  • Tough finish
Cons
  • Not bad but...

I first bought them a year ago. Has worked flawlessly for 11 months. After the incident, when I encountered a significant amount of broken glass, they began to let air through, preventing the sealant from completely sealing the leaks. After the tire was damaged in the glass crash, they were still drivable and held air while driving, but when the ride ended the tires leaked and dropped to about 20psi. My overall impression is that these are excellent tyres. . I don't expect the tires to cover as

I liked it a lot to order a second pair.

I received a new bike last September (2017). I drove 1500 km with these tires. They roll great, grip well and I ride on pretty rough pavement and even gravel. I didn't have a problem with flat tires that Stan couldn't handle. I am riding on farmland and have encountered many goat-headed thorns. Stan always manages to seal punctures and the tires hold air. The biggest problem I've had with them happened recently. A car stopped in front of me and I had to tighten the brakes. I was carried about…

What a pain to install!

I spent 45 minutes fitting the tires onto the wheel then another 45 minutes pumping them up to seat them on the rim then gave up and took them to my local one bike shop to finish them fitting . I poured 2.5 bottles of sealant into the rear tire and after 2 days I still have to pump it up from flat. They wear very well and drive very well, but I never buy those nasty tires. again. Later Comments: After riding them for 2-3 months (they rode well) I developed a puncture in my front tire that…

Dangerous, inconsistent quality

I have used schwable high performance road tires for many years and have always been impressed by the combination of performance and puncture resistance. I recently switched to tubeless rims and initially bought pro rims. It exceeded all my expectations, fast, resilient and durable for the better part of 1000 miles. Then I bought a second tire. Nothing but trouble, two serious punctures, two trip hazards and the tread is cut. The original tire was still on the bike and undamaged. The cuts are…
