Smooth tires / Good grip

I've ridden these tires about 300 miles - mainly on bike paths but also on trails - mostly commuting, some weekend trips and some trips with kids in the bike rack. - Everyone is fine. Feels stable in the rain, smooth on dry tarmac, smooth on dirt roads - great value for money. I had a flat tire on the bike path I ride to work - which hasn't happened in probably over 1000 miles - can't necessarily be blamed on the tire. but it was strange.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • There are imperfections

Highly recommended!

I love these tires! They replace some of the slick center hybrid tires I had on my bike. They roll well and are smooth with a firm hold in the center. They haven't given me an apartment yet and I've been pretty strict with them. UPDATE - I have ridden them about 800 miles and they are still in good condition. I just replaced one because the hose exploded and deformed the sidewall. However, I still love these tires and wish they were a 700x45c size to fit on my mountain bike!

125 miles on gravel - no problems with these tires

I put these tires on 125 miles on gravel in just over 9 hours. It was the first trip with them. I had no apartments. No problem. You were amazing! People fell right and left, and those tires just stayed on the trucks. These tires are slightly flatter in the middle, allowing for more contact when driving fast. The grips are placed right on the edges, so the corning feels very good too. You were on my Surly CrossCheck.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Funny tires, unacceptably short life

I bought these tires 2 years ago to commute around Austin on various roads/trails and they are a good compromise between road and mountain tires. Unfortunately I realized three months ago that despite great tread they were falling apart on the sidewall and tonight they finally came apart completely. I've ridden a lot of miles so can't say they broke straight away but my other bike that does 3 times as many miles runs Continental and they work amazingly well. So they think two stars is a cool…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Shorter cable than others

Very important. Amazing performance and beautiful appearance.

Excellent value for money. I've been looking for an affordable winter tire for my commuter truck (Specialized Sirrus) for a long time. If you live in Wisconsin, sooner or later the streets will be covered with snow. The Specialized "All Condition" 700X32 tires I normally ride just don't give me confidence when I'm driving on ice or snowy roads. I looked at MUCH more expensive tires from Continental, Specialized, and Bontrager. But in the end the Schwalbe tire tests convinced me to try them. I…

on Great Allegheny and C&O Canal Track

I bought these tires because my boyfriend and I decided to drive 330 miles from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Washington, DC along the Great Allegheny and C&O Channel Paths . On the first day of travel (June 23, 2016) we had cloudy weather and a dry route; and the tires rolled smoothly and efficiently over GAP's crushed white limestone. However, the weather quickly deteriorated. The next day, a violent storm soaked the entire region, making the trail slippery and soft. Although the conditions…

Great motocross tire

I bought a pair of these tires to use on a motocross bike which is a type of flat bar road bike with lots of gears that I use on sidewalks and trails. No mountain bike trails, but "Rails to Trail" and gravel roads. I wanted tires with a more aggressive tread pattern than the slick street tires that went with them. These tires meet all requirements. The tread pattern is aggressive, with a scalloped V-shaped pattern in the center and a scalloped "grip" pattern on the edges. Kevlar layers under…
