No protective layer 3 mm.

I received two of these tires for my e-bike and found that there was not a 3mm protective layer between the tread and the carcass. In fact, this is just a thin shell covered with a tread. I took the spike and easily punctured the tire at normal pressure. Sent them back as they were mutilated. Should sell for $20.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • New competitors have appeared

Perfect e-bike tire

Wow! Scaled up from a 1.5" Schwalbe energizer on my 700c hybrid e-bike after a few tight calls about problematic concrete joints and Seattle train tracks. The ride is smoother overall, but the upside is that I no longer have to focus as much on bumps in the road to ensure my safety. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small house
Cons
  • I will add later

Purchased for my 7D Luna Bbshd E-bike conversion from Electra. My city dweller didn't like established tires. This size is perfect for city dwellers without wings, but I have wings. I had to do a slight 1 inch extension on the bars going from the fender to the frame because the tire was rubbing on the bars. I think it works great with 2" wide tires with fenders, but I wanted to get as much with it as possible. Wing. But with modification it works perfectly

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Unreliable

Fat tire for skinny bikes

The extra cushioning you get from Big Ben makes my Bullitt a lot more comfortable. I could have used the Marathon Plus for flat surface protection at beyond category level, but the fairly thick shell and tread band offer almost the same level of protection in a larger size. Add to this a sealant spiked lug chamber and I have a very durable solution to an urban assault. At the moment the grip with this tire is stable on wet or dry roads. The larger 2.4 inch size offers superior carrying capacity

Pros
  • Best in the niche
Cons
  • Good overall but...

Stupid looking but great tires

I had a set of old school tires that originally came on Chicago Schwinn cruisers in the late 70's/early 80's and needed to replace them . First I tried tires of the same type with the same tread pattern, namely Blackwall Duro HF-851. Little did I know there would be such a big difference between worn and new tires - the new tires had so much rolling resistance compared to the old worn tires that I felt like I was riding uphill all the time. I'm not criticizing Duro tires - I just don't think…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • I don't really like it, it's ok
