Description of Scotch-Brite MU-WL Multi-Finishing Wheel: Achieve Superior Finishes with Medium Grit (1 Pack)

Provides uniform grain for final finishing on stainless steel, ferrous, and non-ferrous metals. Highly conformable for consistent finishing on contoured, curved and other surfaces. Moderate aggressiveness and lighter density provide controlled wear for consistent results over the life of the wheel. Convolute construction provides a balanced, smooth running wheel throughout product life. Open, non-woven web runs cool and lessens impact on heat-sensitive materials.

Works best in grinding wheels and discs

I've found it very difficult to remove paint from brass fasteners. This wheel leaves marks, but they are much lighter than a brass or metal wire brush. Again, this will leave a brush mark, but it was a huge time saver.

Pros
  • Slim design

Hi! This is 3M; what do you expect?!

I haven't used enough for a proper and thorough review, but initial results have shown this 3M product to the highest standard that virtually all other products exceed. As I said, my score gives him excellent!

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Upgradable

Ideal for rust removal and initial polishing

Imagine a 1 inch thick extra hard Scotch-Brite pad that is round and can be mounted on a buffer or grinder. Here's what you get. The wheel is significantly denser than your Scotch Brite kitchen pad. It does a good job of removing rust, paint or those first steps in polishing metal. No polishing agents are required when using - abrasives are built into the circuit. I noticed a directional arrow drawn on one side, so it looks like it's only made in one direction - of course rotate it as needed to

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful

Really great for finishing stainless steel or other metal

I've been using tons of Scotchbrite finishing wheels for over a decade. Fine metalwork in stainless steel, bronze and aluminum, large public sculptures. My favorite so far has been the EXL 2A Medium which I mostly buy with 6 x 1/2" wheels. Extremely versatile, can be used on an edge or surface like a 6" sanding disc. Even use it on the occasional random orbit sander instead of sandpaper. But I need a larger circle to brush or grit. 1" is fine to get a good result. Wide enough bite. Sometimes I…

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No power
