Description of Scotch Brite Radial Bristle Diameter Micron

Molded, abrasive-filled bristles strip, deburr, blend, finish, polish, clean, and remove coatings more effectively, with less pressure than wire brushes. Patented ceramic abrasive grain manufactured by 3M provides aggressive cutting and consistent finish quality throughout the life of the disc. Flexible bristles require less pressure than wire brushes and conform to contours, even on complex parts. Bristle spacing is ideal for coating removal and other high-loading substances. Contains no wire filaments for improved safety.

Works great with my Foredom

I use it for initial polishing of silver items in jewelry. I use these in a Foredom Foredom TX Flex Shaft, SXR Foot Pedal 115v 1/3 HP, 15,000 rpm flex shaft system. For my application they work great. In my use they are very durable. To get a good finish, you need to start with coarse sanding and work your way up to finer grits.

Pros
  • Wire free for added security.
Cons
  • No power.

I love these discs!

I love these little blades. I load three or four onto a mandrel and polish! It's just magical what they can make out of copper and brass in a matter of minutes. I use it for my first polish and then move up to 1 micron (although sometimes I don't have to). They are also quite durable. I use them until about 1/3 or more of the length of the stubble is gone. They're not cheap, but you get what you pay for. However, these are the best prices I've found.

Pros
  • 3M's patented ceramic grit provides aggressive cutting and a consistent finish throughout the life of the blade
Cons
  • I don't remember, but there was something
