PEC TOOLS Fractional Screw Tester

I have purchased both metric and fractional versions of this tool. Before purchasing these very high quality tools, I relied on a #185 Starrett drill bit, a tap, and a wire gauge to help me figure out the small machine screws. The Starrett tool doesn't have threaded holes, so once I found the diameter I had to use a thread gauge to determine the number of threads and then go to the 6 inch rule to get the length. NOW VERY EASY to just place the machine. Screw in a hole of the diameter you want…

VERY simple and easy to use

READ THE OWNER'S MANUAL. It's not rocket science, but if you don't know how to use it, it can become useless. This does not cover all possible threads and is not metric. It covers the most common SAE threads used in the USA to the limits of its design. It is designed to test bolts with just your fingers. If you can't ***EASILY*** slide it through one of the hole sizes, use the next smaller hole size. If you need to turn a screw onto a thread with a screwdriver, DO IT WRONG. Do not exaggerate…

  • Check, measure and inspect
Cons
  • Crumpled

Fast, simple, reliable, inexpensive, well made

I have several tools for measuring different types of screws. Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses. I had to reorganize my bolts and screws by replacing many boxes, drawers, and crates with a simpler system. I thought it would be easy until I realized what a mess the contents of all those baskets and boxes were. Once I started adding a few metric screws, my ability to instantly know which one was the right one was a thing of the past. My new plan was to use very strong 3x6 inch clear

  • Sizing

  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly
