Ceramic sculptor who likes to experiment with lighter sculptures

I have been sculpting with fired clay for a number of years and the only thing I am concerned with is the weight of the parts and how fragile they are before firing and how difficult it is to transport heavy and complex pieces. So I wanted to experiment with cold porcelain and other air drying clays to see what they offer. With both I now find it much easier to work with its stickier and stickier texture. It adheres to rebar more easily than traditional air drying clays. He feels stronger andโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Pottery and ceramics
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.

I have used many clay mediums and this is by far the best and most difficult clay to find. I read a comment about shrinkage, if you don't add water the shrinkage is about 5%. If you need clay that is not easy to break, set up a business, e.g. B. jewelry, dolls, tiny furniture, that's clay. 20 stars from me

Pros
  • Porcelain like smooth translucent finish
Cons
  • Concise instructions

The best material that is not Modena

Really like this material. It's a little sticky at first, but give it a minute to work or just sit and it's perfect. However, the packaging is terrible. They wrap the clay in saran and it sticks to the plastic like crazy. You will always lose a few grams just by sticking with this nonsense. Dries for about an hour at 1/4 inch thickness and dries to a relatively hard and durable finish. But thin material is more flexible.

Pros
  • Can be sanded, drilled or cut
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

compressed too much to use.

Working on a boardwalk, beach and ocean diorama. I wanted to use this for the beach because I didn't want to use Sculpy as it needs to be baked. So I built the boardwalk and then used it for the beach. It looked wonderful when I put it down, but I had to delay the project a few weeks, and when I got back it had shrunk so much that it was about 1/4 inch from the boardwalk and the edge of the sidewalk. the same diorama. It looks like a one foot gap in the scale and the surface has changed. Youโ€ฆ
