Description of ๐Ÿ’จ The Scythe Mugen 5 Black Edition CPU Air Cooler

Based on the classic Mugen 5 cooler, this new edition comes with an all-black Kaze Flex 120 fan (ramp up to 1500 rpm) that pushes its performance to the next level. With the additional fan clip and upgraded mounting system, the Mugen 5 Black is the premium choice of excellent performance and superb quietness. Thanks to the offset and asymmetrical design, this cooler has great compatibility with memory modules and graphic cards even on LGA 2011 (V3) / LGA 2066 sockets. Standing only 154.5mm tall, the Mugen 5 Black perfectly fits most tower cases on the market. Thanks to the newly developed fan design, the Kaze Flex 120 black is optimized to achieve the best balance of performance and noise level. Equipped anti-vibration pad minimizes possible vibration transmission keeping applications at the lowest sound profile. The heatsink has a complete black coating and diamond engraved logo making the cooler look sleeker and better fits with popular color themes of PC builds. New version of HPMS III-S is easy-to-install and secure for socket INTEL LGA 1150, 1151, 1155, 1156, 1200, 2011(V3)Square ILM, 2066 Square ILM and AMD AM2(+), AM3(+), AM4, FM1, FM2(+). This mounting system gives precise contact pressure to CPU and supports most popular sockets and motherboards on the market.

Awesome looking cooler, slightly better than the Wraith Prism

I've been waiting for this item ever since it was announced as a replacement for the stock Prism cooler. It looks great, the assembly system is quite simple and if you take your time you can even install it in a stuffed suitcase without having to disassemble everything. Overall this cooler is very good, it's quiet, works well, has a good mounting solution and comes with decent paste. one piece. If you're looking for a more drastic cooling difference, check out Fuma or Ninja. I knew this to beโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

This cooler is AMAZING for any new PC builder!

When it comes to air coolers I hear you choose Scythe or Noctua out of the park while everyone else goes for AIO. I prefer air coolers as they tend to be more reliable and reach thermal equilibrium faster. I also had a hard time choosing a Corsair 200R air cooler for my first gaming PC build, but I didn't look any further. This 120mm tower cooler pairs perfectly with a hardened steel sideplate to deliver uncompromising 120mm cooling. It has reduced the idle temperature of my i7-10700K to 47ยฐCโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Replacement availability

Cool gaming temperatures at 100% duty cycle.

A great cooler. Saw black and had to take it for my Batman build. Easy installation with secure fastening system. Temperatures remain between 60 and 68 degrees Celsius when the i9 is clocked up to 5GHz on all 5-core tests.

Better H100i: Fans and Cooling

So I had to replace my NEW capellix h100i because the pump was noisy (even on the quiet profile). I chose to air cool my 3600 and the Mugen reviews were very good for the price. The black version of Mugen is absolutely beautiful. EVERYTHING is black coated, even the fan clips! Mounting on the AM4 was extremely easy with the standard backplate. It runs at temperatures of around 39-42 degrees Celsius when idling, under load it is a maximum of 72 degrees continuous operation on Cinebench. Idleโ€ฆ

  • Great for me
Cons
  • No Instructions

This cooler is SUPER!

When it comes to air coolers, we all know that Noctua is kicking them out of the park or everyone else is using some sort of AIO. I prefer air coolers as they tend to be more reliable and reach thermal equilibrium faster. The selection of an air cooler for the Cooler Master NR200P was also difficult for me, but I didn't look any further. This 120mm tower cooler pairs perfectly with a tempered glass side panel for uncompromised 120mm cooling. This has reduced the idle temperature of my Ryzenโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Crumpled

Good but worse than the silver version

I got this cooler yesterday to replace the silver Mugen 5 I was using. With a silver Mugen 5 and my Ryzen 5800x, I observed temperatures around 78C max. after loading the system. After installing the black Mugen 5, the temperature rose to 91C, reducing the potential for CPU overboost. At first I thought it might be due to improper installation, so I reinstalled everything to use even mounting pressure and the right amount of thermal paste. After retesting, my results were the same. I'm not sure

  • cool product
