This microphone shares many similarities with the legendary Shure SM58. If you turn on the flat EQ and compare this mic to the SM58, I think you'll just find that it sounds a little better. The vocals seem a bit more present and fit better into the mix. For the price you can't go wrong. I noticed improvements in both male and female vocals during live performances.

Se electronics have always treated me well. I have their ribbon mic and one of their condenser mics. When I decided to buy a quality dynamic microphone, it was a no-brainer. This microphone is a solid mechanism. Sounds great, but for the price, how could you say no. I look forward to testing this mic in the near future. So if you're looking for quality without the price tag, this is it.

I really like this mic for recording vocals. I bought this because of a good review in Tape Op magazine and was curious how it might differ from some other mics I have. I used a Studio Projects B1 condenser microphone, which worked (for me, my voice and my style) much better than the SM57 I started with. But after tweaking V7 and doing a few takes, I decided to just keep it. Now it's a toss-up between these two. Seems like a good buy for the price.

I love this microphone. Actually I bought SM58 at the same time to compare. I felt the V7 was a bit clearer with less hum (ripple) at low frequencies compared to the SM58. The V7 just sounds cleaner, clearer and more refined. I've also argued between dynamic and condenser audio for my home video footage. I think this V7 is the perfect choice.
