Not worth shipping, especially buying

I do not recommend buying these lenses as they fall apart in the field with loads of real field time. Unless you need something for a very short, super non-critical period of time, these lenses aren't worth your time, money, or even the metal they're made of. Move on to something better.

For the price unbeatable.

Five Element - 20x-12mm / 10x-18mm Magnifiers Great loupe set - perfect when you want to see something that your regular loupe can't enlarge enough. Two small lenses - one magnifies 10x (10x) and the other 20x (20x). Not the highest build quality, but not the worst either - but for under $10, can you really expect them to be the same as those that cost 4-5x their price? For most adults, this unit should last a long time, but if you're buying it for use by young children, there's a chance the…

"Great item for the money "

I am by no means a "professional jeweler" but I do enjoy collecting, repairing and restoring watches. In addition, there is an unmanageable number of "everyday" watches in our family that always need either a new battery or some kind of repair. When I saw this particular jewelry loupe with the "two magnifications in one small unit" feature, I wanted to try it! This magnifying glass is very well made. The chrome finish is well done and the lenses are crystal clear and flawlessly finished. It…

Excellent value for money

I received mine in excellent condition - there were no scratches on the glass as one reviewer noted. The size of a 10x magnifier is advertised as 18mm, but the glass is 15mm or just under 5/8 inch. The size of the 20x magnifier is smaller (for viewing small objects) and actually slightly larger than the advertised diameter of 12mm or about 1/2 inch. This size is more than sufficient to consider diamonds, for example, but it may not be sufficient for geological purposes. I have no complaints…

Pros
  • Crafts and sewing
Cons
  • No instructions

High quality optics are always expensive (think camera lenses). This is not an expensive glass. It does its job very easily and with some compromises, but it will serve your purposes if they are as simple as mine. I have no experience with jewelry loops, so I can't offer anyone a comparison. Here are the simple facts about using this product: It really does increase, I would say significantly. I can't tell you whether he's doing it to the extent he claims he is. However, you need to be aware…
