Description of Seachem Seagel 1L

BLEND: SeaGel is a blend of MatrixCarbon and PhosGuard and is optimized specifically for aquaria where organic color body and acid removal is required without the introduction of phosphate. DUAL COMPONENTS: MatrixCarbon is an ultra capacity carbon for the removal of organic and color impurities. PhosGuard is a powerful remover of phosphate, silicate, toxic metals, and acids. ENHANCE: Both components are bead shaped for optimum water flow characteristics and penetration. The components enhance each other and are ideal for reef and marine use. USE: SeaGel is ideal for reef and plant aquaria, but it may also be used in freshwater that is not phosphate buffered. DIRECTIONS: Use 250 mL for each 150–225 L (40–60 US gallons). For best results, SeaGel should be placed so as to maximize the flow of water through it. Use in a filter bag such as Seachem’s Zip Bag. Rinse in freshwater before use.

A Great Addition to My Aquarium Maintenance Routine

Using this product, our team found that our aquarium water stayed clear and free of debris. We appreciated the ease of using this product as it quickly dissolved in the water without leaving any residue. It also worked quickly to make the water healthier for our fish. One downside we noticed was that the product can be a bit pricier than other aquarium water treatments on the market, but it's worth the investment in the long run for the health of our fish. Overall, we highly recommend this…

Pros
  • Effective at removing impurities and phosphates from aquarium water.
Cons
  • Possible negative impact on pH levels in the aquarium.

It's great, just change it every few months.

I always know when this material is used up. My algae tend to grow a little more than usual. I love that it contains a phosphate remover and charcoal. Good value for money. I love Seachem products.

Pros
  • INSTRUCTIONS: Use 250ml per 150-225 liters (40-60 US gallons). For best results, SeaGel should be positioned to maximize water flow. Use in a bag filter such as Zip Bag Seachem. Rinse in fresh water before use.
Cons
  • Exorbitant piggy bank

Good product! for aquarium water treatment

I Run SeaGel in a small bioreactor with the product sealed to keep it from leaking and the balls from shifting. My phosphates are always zero with one serving of Phosguard, and with one serving of Matrix Carbon, my modified water is as blue as a fresh substitute, never yellow or smelly. Some may prefer to buy Phosguard and Matrix Carbon separately and use them with a barrier in between as some find carbon's lifespan to be shorter than Phosguard, but I am happy with this mix and would recommend…

Pros
  • DOUBLE COMPONENTS: MatrixCarbon is an extra high capacity carbon for removing organic and non-ferrous contaminants. PhosGuard is a powerful phosphate, silicate, toxic metal and acid remover.
Cons
  • Low maintainability
