Since using this product I have had no more water problems.

I use this with a sachems neutral discus regulator to adjust the water before adding it to the aquarium. I get an almost instant change in the water. Follow the instructions and you shouldn't have any problems with this product.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not the best

Seachem fan suitable for aquarium water purification

Discus Buffer is the best way to soften tap water quickly and inexpensively. Add some neutral regulator for any pH issues and Prime for your fish and tap water is instantly ready for my fish/plant tanks. I know there are many ways to balance water, but let's face it, who has the time or money for most? Not me. This is the quickest and easiest way to make my tap water fish friendly. My settings here are high pH hard water due to the use of chloramine.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • You could have chosen a newer model

I started discus breeding more than twenty years ago. I was living in Miami at the time and was lucky enough to find a great fish shop called Some Things Fishy. These guys were all about fish, freshwater and saltwater. They helped me start my hobby and recommended SeaChem products. I've used them for all these years with great results. SeaChem Discus Buffer is the most reliable pH lowering buffer I have found! Ideal in aquariums with plants.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Now I have algae in the aquarium Water treatment

My aquarium is 4 years old. I keep a fish in it. betta My water test says no problem. It contains few living plants. I have an entire house water filtration system. RO and DM water. However, my PH is slightly higher than I would like. 7.8 so I wanted to lower it to at least 7.0 or even better 6.8 since the ideal pH for bettas is on the lower end. I never had an algae problem until I added this discus buffer which I can see contains phosphate which I've read causes algae. I don't use CO2…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful
