I thought I was going to lose my black widow (black petticoat tetra)! She went through multiple treatments for fungal and bacterial infections and I was close to giving up. The consistency is similar to other Seachem products (watery) so I really believe when they claim not to interfere with the filtering function. This material is great for healing burrs and scratches! I have a pink betta whose fins are prone to cracking and fin rot. I've found this stuff to be a must for him, so I now add it to his tank with every water change. After a water change my tail got sick lying on its side on the bottom of the tank with what I thought was a snail on it eats a tail. I'm glad I had it on hand.
