Seachem PhosGuard 1L: Highly Effective Phosphate Remover for Crystal Clear Water Review

I have looked into diatoms and while not disastrous they look awful in my otherwise lovely betta/shrimp tanks. I just added this today so can't speak to the results but would like to add that the surrounding area is very small (a bit larger than those tiny spherical splatters) so make sure you have a very fine mesh filter bag around it to place. You only need 1/3 cup of Phosgard per 100 gallons of fresh water, so keep that in mind lest you accidentally buy it for two lives like I did.

Bought this to reduce PO4 in my 150 gallon saltwater aquarium. Made my own little reactor and only added 2/3 of what was recommended. I made sure to rinse it well and even after 4 times there was some haze. Setting the flow so the product gets moving but doesn't freak out required some tweaking to find the sweet spot. After reading all the negative reviews online about Phosguard causing problems with aluminum flushing in reef tanks, I was very hesitant to use it. I have Leather, Frogspawn, Torches, Zoas, and Mushrooms in my tank. A few fine algae have grown on the live rock that I put in the aquarium.
