Disappointing Results with Pet Supplies Filter

When I tried using this filter to remove phosphates and silicates from my aquarium, it didn't improve the water quality at all. Despite following the instructions carefully, the product didn't seem to be effective in reducing the nutrient levels, resulting in recurring algae blooms. The only positive aspect of this product is its easy installation, but that's not enough to make up for its poor performance. Save your money and look for other filtration options.

Pros
  • Effectively removes phosphates and silicates from aquarium water, reducing algae growth and improving water quality.
Cons
  • May remove beneficial nutrients from the water along with the phosphates and silicates, potentially harming delicate coral and other aquatic life if not used properly.

Works well with phosphate.

but it has no effect on silicates, which is disappointing. I love everything Seachem. Great company and incredible customer service. Unbeatable in the aquarium business

Pros
  • phosphate remover
Cons
  • minor things

Phosguard works much better in my tank than Phosbond

It didn't work in my tank. I have a lightly planted 37 gallon aquarium that is not overcrowded with fish. I used Seachem's Phosguard and it worked. But I decided to give it a try because I thought it would be better, stronger, and last longer. But that's not the case. As soon as I switched Fosguard to Fosbond, hair started to grow in the aquarium immediately. I followed all the instructions and placed it tightly packed in a small filter bag on top of my canister filter to ensure it couldn't…

Pros
  • For both salt and fresh water
Cons
  • Hard to tell
