This filter suits me well. Installation was easy and the hose size options fit my needs. Easy to clean and maintain. Excellent purchase!

Easy to install and love the large basket, transparent lid and easy cleaning. However, after 3 months, a crack formed on the edge of the transparent cover. This crack compromises the integrity and possible failure and sinking of the boat. I'll apply for a loan and look for a more reliable screen.

Ideal for use on my Mercruiser 350 Mag MPI with Bravo 3 Bravo 3 clogged 1 1/4" diameter water outlet hose. Ran this after a continuous hull and the boat is much more reliable. Every year the tube would slip in downforce and have to pull the boat to fix it, the through hull eliminates that point of failure.

I like the overall design, but the inner basket is too weak. When the strainer becomes clogged, the basket will be sucked into the housing and bend/break the rim of the strainer basket. If you are using it as a precautionary measure and expecting generally clean water, I would recommend it. If you are using an inlet filter for your boat in an overgrown environment I would suggest something more reliable and do not recommend this article.

This is a really good strainer. Since it is plastic, salt corrosion is excluded. It can be a bit tricky to keep the gasket in place when assembling the top, but it will probably be easier if the gasket is compressed in place. Visibility is good and it's easy to see if the screen needs cleaning and it's also easy to see. to have good water flow. The only transparent part at the top poses a small problem if you are forced to install it with the top view closed.

I just installed this strainer on my 38ft sailboat and it works really well, easier to maintain than others I've had and big enough to hold a couple Pick up Bromtabs to save the system. from contamination. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I think it could be a bit more durable, especially the lid which is difficult to remove and needs to be handled carefully to avoid breaking it. The good thing is you can cut one side down to 3/4" to accommodate the line coming from the Kingston and then the other side can shorten to 1/2" or 5/8" depending on what your seawater pump needs.
