I first brought this hard drive with me in August '07. I'm happy to report that as of July 2020 things are still running like clockwork. I still keep a few old files and documents there. I've had at least a dozen other hard drives since I got these in 2007, and most of them stopped working years ago.

What a great deal, $69.00 when I bought it. It comes with a setting for FAT32. Go to the Seagate Knowledge Base, type format after entering the basic information and you will be taken to an article that explains how to set up a drive for NTFS. Excellent drive. I like the smaller size. Seagate always offers the most innovative product features because they spend more on research and development than any competitor. The best design I have ever used. The software interface is transparent.

We were lucky enough to find another model of this model through Revain (last year's model), we have 2 more, this one for the dorm my son's . My son has a laptop and the smaller drives use 1 or 2 USB ports (1 for information, 1 for power) to work properly and most manufacturers suggest computer ports instead of "powered hub" ports to use. I was thrilled when I received this item and started using it immediately. It seems nice and reliable (I think) BUT it's so slow it's not funny. This is the first time in my life that I give feedback and I'm even late for work, but I have to say it. The thing is just slow. The data transfer takes forever.
