I would not recommend using the screw cap that comes with this camera mount unless you plan to manually charge your wireless camera. The screw cover is too big and prevents connecting the cables. Perhaps a cable with a right angle connector would solve the problem? I strongly doubt it. However, the mount itself has some exposed metal parts that can rust. I therefore recommend using galvanized screws instead of the supplied ones and siliconizing the base when used outdoors. Indoor use shouldn't…

Initially they were good for mounting cameras. They don't adjust particularly smoothly, so it takes a little effort to aim and lock them properly, but not too bad. The real problem is that they rust so quickly. I took my Arlo Pros off to charge their batteries for the first time and the threads on the camera mounts were already badly rusted. Form factor identical to the original Arlo mount with one critical exception: the only moving part of the mount, the sleeve that holds the steel ball joint, is PLASTIC and breaks very easily. These little guys should come with a "disclaimer" that they are NOT designed for use with a power cord. It comes down to a design issue. The threaded portion extends about ¼ inch into the chamber.
