Not that difficult for tool kits

I'm keeping this review short, the metal used is not that hard and the front of the socket is tapered. The socket can be easily dismantled. So I had to drill out the nut.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Damaged

Tool fits perfectly

Tool was perfect for my SEI output gear when I needed to replace the throttle cable from the engine to the gears in the SEI output gear which was a Mercruiser Alpha replacement! get ahead.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Low repairability

Felt slightly damaged

Works perfectly and serves its purpose. However, $25 for a 9/16 socket with a 3/4 nut welded on top makes the run time and fee (special tools) a used car deal. I'm just saying.

Pros
  • Robust version
Cons
  • old

good tool. in toolboxes

As advertised. Sent quickly. But when I opened the box I found it was nothing more than a deep 9/16 inch spark plug head that you can get anywhere for $6. Simply remove the rubber piece in the spark plug socket and the shifter cable extension goes straight through. makes a great sterndrive at a really great price. I think they have to charge extra for tools to make up for it(?)

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Some bugs

Poor quality tool - tool kits

I have used this tool twice and both times it has not disappointed. I'm no novice at the backyard shade tree mechanic. Both times I used this tool the fit was imprecise and it rounded the fit to the point where it was impossible to use this tool. Both times I had to cut off the pipe extension, hit a flat flat coupler and carefully remove the fitting. When installing a new cable gland I was able to use this socket but it didn't give me confidence.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
