Functionality and superior quality

I own and operate a custom joinery shop that has proven invaluable in my line of business. I will buy more. To install them, I lean a Phillips screwdriver against the wall, tap the backing to mark where the drywall anchor goes, and then use the same Phillips screwdriver to screw them into the drywall until it bottoms. Be careful not to overtighten, you don't want to rip the drywall off. Use a 1 1/4" #8 bit and stop drilling as soon as it hits bottom. Long story short, my first 1000 is almost…

Pros
  • No pre-drilling required
Cons
  • Vanish

Much better than plastic

I'm a furniture maker and was very happy when I ran out of plastic anchors to order. (and no, don't just use drywall anchors for the closet, but they come in handy if you only have one stud on a small closet or…

Pros
  • Solid self-drilling anchor
Cons
  • Slightly torn

You won't find them in the big hardware stores anymore.

Love these and hate the new ones that have been hitting the shelves at major hardware stores for a while. They have a nice blade tip and you can just tap the hammer on the point you want to set and you're done. I also found that while there are no guarantees, if the drill bit digs into the paper and tears through, the screws will break through the tip and not start digging up the drywall. The ones now sold in HD and L simply screw all the way to the top and will drill right through the drywall…

Pros
  • Anchors are removable
Cons
  • A price that breaks a piggy bank
