Scientia Moderate Saddles by Selle Royal Review

Like most riders I have a box full of saddles but this could be the one. The padding feels a little softer than the narrow standard saddle. I liked it so much that I immediately ordered a second one for a different bike. Only time will tell but after a few hundred miles it is looking very promising.

I thought I would order a sporty small saddle but ended up with an average small saddle. I can now see that when I add the saddle to my cart it becomes moderate despite the title of the product page saying 'Sport'. The saddle is well made and more comfortable than the one I'm looking to replace, but I'll probably return it and adjust it again hoping it gets even better.

So I bought a nice mountain bike (Specialized Camber) with the typical hard, thin and flat seat. I bought the bike to lose weight and I couldn't use the seat that it came with , barely bare. I have replaced the stock saddle on my Trek Domane with a Selle Royal Scientia Moderate and after about half a dozen 35-50 mile rides I am very satisfied. The stock saddle caused severe chafing on the inner thighs (even when using suede oil), but this saddle eliminated that problem. I'm 6ft 1in, I'm not light and I find the plus size perfect.
