Good parts at a good price

Knock sensor replacement is easy but tedious I was looking for quality at a good price so I wouldn't have to do it again. The parts supplied met both requirements.

Pros
  • Great performance overall
Cons
  • Some little things

Bad Wiring Harness Matches Sensors

There was a bad sensor which was causing the check engine light to come on. After replacing both sensors and the wiring harness the car runs better but now the light comes on again and gives codes for both sensors. Apparently this is bad suspension.

  • Great Price

Good quality harness

Compared to the new GM harness, the rubber bushings on the secondary harness were a bit softer (not bad). them like a GM wiring harness. I wouldn't hesitate to buy them again.

Pros
  • Great fit for me
Cons
  • Everything great

2002 4.8L Silverado - Medium wire, slightly short, about 1 inch

Mounted on a 2002 Silverado 4.8L V8. It works, the quality is good, but the cable that goes from the rear knock sensor to the front one is very short. It should be at least an inch longer so it's loose and not tight.

Pros
  • Much good vibration
Cons
  • Frequency

Buy OEM parts for Detonation

Well - it was installed about two weeks ago and is causing incorrect code readings (low voltage). It's quite a job going back to replace it. 4-6 hours of work is not cheap, let alone purchasing the part again. Reach for OEM parts. I've tried going the cheaper route and it doesn't work for me. I swapped out both knock sensors at the same time for AC Delco parts.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • old

Used them on my 5.3 z71 2001 speedo and they work great.

Of course we know that this is not the easiest setup. But if you buy this set because they are the same OEM quality. I didn't even need sealant for the gaskets as the rubber was pushed through well there. However, I bought more expensive ac delco knock sensors. But obviously you don't want to skimp on them. Do this work once and you're done. You need that. I installed them on my Tacho 5.3 z71 2001 by the way.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Great part for the money. Works on my 2003 Corvette Base

I changed the oil pressure sensor and decided to swap out the knock sensors while I was there and it's a great suspension. I'm not afraid of water getting under it and no, I didn't seal the knock sensors on the RTV. You don't have to do this unless you're using foam pads under the intake manifold (although you should, as that's their purpose). I have driven many kilometers with it and it is perfect, no problems and it fits like the original. Great purchase, great item!

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Operating Speed

Mine didn't fit exactly like OEM - 2004 Silverado 5.3

Love how the plugs seemed to fit the knock sensors snugly. However, there was too much tape wrapped too close to the knock sensor green wire connector on the firewall side. 2 connections made too close. I could only connect one or the other, but not both at the same time out of the box. It was easy to cut off some of that tape, but pulling a razor blade out of a new harness is an uncomfortable feeling. Except for this solid article. Not many kilometers on it, but the signs are good, my problem…
