It's adorable and very handy for breaking eggs. But you might as well separate the yolk with your hands because the yolk will get stuck and won't flow easily. I only use big eggs, maybe that's the difference? But everyone thought it was charming!

I saw this item being used by James May of Top Gear who now has a cooking show. It was used to easily separate the yolk from the protein on TV. I tried doing the same thing but it didn't work with large eggs straight out of the fridge. Maybe it works if the eggs are at room temperature? Now it's a cute ball on a shelf in the kitchen.

I've seen this product on YouTube videos etc and wanted to make crème brûlée with it. But I couldn't get it to work. I started with cold eggs - no. I read some reviews that suggested room temperature eggs. I tried it too - no. I'm disappointed because it looked so easy and fun in the video. So I took it back and just separated the yolks with my fingers. Not as fun, but much more effective.

My husband saw this on a YouTube cooking show and had to do it. I ordered it for him even though it absolutely doesn't fit anywhere in our kitchen. He came and when I opened it I was pleasantly surprised at how cute he was in person. It didn't bother me that it was ceramic and had a bright yellow spout, and in our kitchen it's all cream porcelain stoneware, acacia wood and black. That somehow doesn't take anything away, but rather brings a certain homely atmosphere to the kitchen. I love it…
