Broken bulbs. The nipples are not long enough to stay in the nest when squeezed and twisted. Lightbulbs do not stay in place and therefore do not work. I tried using them in metal sockets in a 1966 Mustang gauge. hope that helps

Overall the bulb is nice and bright. The problem is the side rails. They don't stick out very far, and unless you insert a metal socket, the bulb may not snap securely into place. When trying to use plastic sockets in my dashboard, the bulbs didn't snap into place properly. The original bulbs fit well and tightly. I measured the diameter of the base on both, they are the same.

I used this product on the dashboard of my 1959 Chevy truck. It honestly worked great. better than other LEDs. I just wanted to buy regular incandescent bulbs because they were brighter than some of the other LEDs I tried. The color will not be the original color if you use it this way and try to keep the default color. Personally I did this to reduce the electrical load since I was running everything on old schools. Well they are bright. I installed them on my '65 Mustang. They are not dimmable but work perfectly! If you're familiar with the G1 Mustang's gauges, you know they're weak. No longer.
