Remote work right out of the box!

This pair of remote controls worked without any problems on my Xfinity X1 box. The only option I don't have is voice control (since I hardly ever used voice control in the original, I don't really miss that option. Switch to the channel you want (usually the wrong channel). So if voice control isn't a deal Breaker Deals. I give it 5 stars! Maybe they have a voice controlled version but I didn't care.

  • Aim Anywhere Control (RF Capabilities): With some TV Boxes as well as DTA devices, the XR2 remote control can control your TV Box or DTA up to 50 meters even if it is kept in a closet or another room!

Good remote but sensitive to water

Works fine but after two attempts at sanitizing with alcohol it got into the buttons and destroyed one of the remote controls. I didn't even drink that much alcohol. Apparently cheaply made. I've repaired remotes in the past so I understand how they work and how they work. If they are poorly made, water can penetrate between the rubber plates of the buttons and the contact points underneath, destroying the remote by shorting out. Sometimes you can salvage a remote by taking it apart and dryingโ€ฆ

A second installation step may be required!

Original review: Insert says if you have this setting for your TV, ie VOL and MUTE you are "good to go" but what good is this without channel management, orientation - and information control, etc.? I just can't connect this device to the console. Useless! Upgrading to 5 stars because the device is perfect, but in addition to programming the remote I had to *plug it into my cable box*. So I had to call Comcast and they walked me through a few button presses, sent a signal (I think) and bingoโ€ฆ
