The Ombra tool set is designed for repairing damaged and cutting internal and external threads. Cutting tools are made of high carbon tool steel with hardness HRC 40–55 and are not intended for primary processing of threaded surfaces of high carbon steels, metals and materials comparable in hardness.
I have been using this set for 7 years. I use about 3 times a year for threading and about 10 times for cleaning threads. When I cut a thread, I observe the diameter of the drill required for this thread diameter, or I reduce the difference if there is no necessary drill, plus I drip oil onto the cutting site.
Not a single tap or die was broken during this time. I use it in the garage.
The best set in terms of quality and completeness.
When I bought it, he had a price tag of 1800 in Leroy…
Pros
Metal quality. A handy case that keeps everything in its place. The number of items in the set.
This is a thread repair kit. Low declared hardness and a very large variation in hardness 40-55. But even the upper limit is not enough for the primary cutting. This is not even suitable for garage and country work. For the home, upgrade a rusty bolt or nut. This is the maximum set.
I wanted to write how it is, Ombra and such . but, and then I remembered Makita D-37194 (rigging set) and .
I absolutely do not recommend
