The bobbin winder hasn't worked in years. Upon inspection, all I needed was a small rubber wheel. Since my sewing machine was very old I checked the measurements and we were within tolerance for me to try it out. It went on without any problems and I was once again the winding master of my bobbins! The product arrived quickly and is as advertised. I'm a happy camper and easily got back into mask sewing and other projects :)

Fits my 1950's Singer 401A (my mum had) and will work. I am particularly pleased about this because a long time ago a sewing machine mechanic told me that this part cannot be replaced or repaired. The original part hardened, glazed and fell apart (not surprising for a 60 year old rubber tire) and I hand wound the coils. I was surprised at how many spare tires there are to spool up and how many epic failures you will experience when They're trying to find the right one! Basically they are O-rings, however it turned out to be almost impossible to find a replacement for the usual dimensions (ID, OD, etc.) Most of the ones used for advertised for use in sewing machines are too loose in the wheel groove and are generally too thick.They are denser and slightly thinner which allows them to move along the groove…
