Great antenna! Love it!

One of the best antennas. I was 26 miles from the village and STILL able to hear and transmit on VHF with this antenna. I can pick up and deliver to a village 33 miles or more away.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • No instructions

Size may vary from Metz antenna size

Product appears to be well made and works fine when connected to my VHF cable. However if you are replacing a Metz mast antenna you must do so now as the Shakespearean body is longer than the Metz and may not fit in the space the Metz antenna occupies. It's just important to be prepared to find a workaround to move it somewhere else.

Pros
  • Fits great for me
Cons
  • Does not fit all

GREAT antenna for my ski boat

Installed on my 2001 Four Winns 180 ski boat. Works much better than I expected! This antenna says it's for sailboat masts, but let me tell you, even on the back deck of a ski boat its range is pretty damn good (a mate's radio picked me up 3 miles away at Lake Powell.

Pros
  • Shakespeare 2 year limited warranty
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

These are established VHF antennas

These are established VHF antennas. The 5215 has been around for a long time because it's a great antenna. This is the ideal antenna for a sailboat mast. You get about 10 years of this (what I got from the last 5215 that replaced this one) in a salt water environment. Not bad.

Pros
  • Gain 3dB
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
