I LOVE these stones. It cuts so quickly and cleanly. First I use a 1000 grit diamond stone and then polish with it. If I just touch up the secondary bevel, I can go straight from diamond to 12,000 grit. It only takes a few minutes (or seconds) to sharpen and get on with it.

Pros
  • The best bar set! Good choice for kitchen knives, precision tools, sushi knives, etc.
Cons
  • Slightly Crumpled

Perfect Stones on Hand Tools

Very easy to clean, reliable and stable at all times. Really splash and go, no need to soak them in water. But like all whetstones, they need to be smoothed (honed) every hour. I suggest this "400 Medium Mesh Atom Diamond Sharpener" is very useful and works great, much cheaper than Shapton Diamond Blade.

Pros
  • Fine Grit (#5000) is used for sharpening and Fine Grit (#12000) is good for fine sharpening
Cons
  • Concise Instructions

Really fast cutting!

I've finally got all my carpenter's chisels properly sharpened. I played around for about 5 days, leveling and polishing the back. My diamond stones kept slowing down. These stones were further cut and polished. My 5 carat ceramic is cutting my 1200th diamond. Easy cutting and mirror polishing. I should have bought them a long time ago.

Pros
  • Stones are painted in matching vented plastic boxes that also double as stone holders
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous
