Like curb chains for legs

Knalloranger rubber should not be lost. I paint everything I take with me into the forest orange. I've been wandering around after an ice storm and these things really get stuck. I can easily climb a steep ridge that is difficult to get traction even in summer. They should work just fine. The XL sizes are also retained with size 12 Muck boots. I haven't used the velcro straps yet, but could use them for longer walks or in deep snow.

Game changer for regular forest hikes on snow and ice from 4 " to 6 " thick.

Wearing these cleats will speed up your hikes in the snow. Put on my walking shoes and big rubber boots, both are fine. Walking on hard surfaces of ice over boulders and rocks when hiking is quite doable and doesn't slip at all. I wore 12 inch wellies, the spikes fit over the top and they were fine, and walking in 4-6 inches of snow was easy. Significantly speeds up snow walking with these aggressive spikes.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • No performance

Best Winter Buy!

I've been in Michigan for 8 years and this is the first time I've bought something like this for our winters. So happy with the purchase. I deliver for Revain part-time. It's great to jump in and out of the vans without worrying about slipping on the ice. ICE! I walked and ran on the ice like nothing happened. Never slipped. The grip is amazing. Everything about them is perfect. Oh, and don't worry if you ride in it. I drove normally and had no effect on the brake/accelerator pedals at all.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty Construction
Cons
  • Legacy

Sturdy and well made

I'm from the south and have never used anything like this but we are taking a trip to Iceland and were told we will need them. However, I have no comparison, but they look very solid and well made. I put them on snowshoes I just bought and they were a bit tight but I managed. They appear to be very sturdy and well built. I wear size 7 shoes and ordered a medium size which was sufficient. We look forward to their test run, but it may not happen soon, if ever before our trip.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • I'll write back later

great grip on snow/ice

Ideal for winter hikes on icy paths and hills or just to avoid falls in your driveway. The only problem is that the metal loop will eventually cut through the elastic, even though it's thicker at this point. Perhaps a plastic cleat or using recycled tire rubber will prevent this. I used plastic zip ties to secure the previous spikes. Velcro straps are also an improvement over other brands. For the price I expect 2-3 years of use but I will not pay $50-70 for spikes of similar manufacture as…

Living in Wisconsin

First I wear size 10 winter boots and the big boots fit perfectly. I will say that you need to rearrange them from time to time to keep them tight. I have a lot of ice in my driveway, which is awful when you're trying to use a snow blower, but with these little ones, you'll no longer slip and fall. I go up and down wooden stairs, make my way over gravel roads, cement sidewalks and asphalt roads without any problems. I lay my boots out on a rubber mat to dry so they don't rust. They come in a…

Feel free to enjoy the great outdoors

I'm really impressed with these ice boots. I was afraid that they would be difficult to put on and slippery on the sidewalk. I was wrong on both assumptions. Putting them on was quick and easy (still surprised) and they're stable on the pavement (although I doubt anyone would recommend them for that). I walk the lanes with our dog to let him off the leash from time to time and the ice in the shade is uneven. When it snows the ice is not visible and recently I fell and injured my shoulder. I…

Good Prices for Outdoor Recreation

Where we live in the mountains of Northern California there is about 4 to 8 plus inches of snow every winter. They usually melt within a few days, but before that we have to park on the ring road and walk about 1/4 mile up the steep (20% incline) road to our house. We only use them for these hikes up and down our road and have only used them twice so far. They worked perfectly, much better than the coil springs I bought and threw away. The Sharkmouth cleats look very similar to a $70 pair of…

As good as Kahtoola micro lugs - maybe even better

We bought these as we will be riding in snow/ice this coming winter. We used to buy REI Kahtoola micro spikes for $65 and they worked really well on the ice, but that's a lot of money for something we rarely use. So we tried the $16 Sharkmouth version. We haven't used the Sharkmouth in real life, but we've physically compared the two brands and also run the Sharkmouth on dry ground, and the Sharkmouth is very similar to the Kahtoola in every way: metal, rubber. , reinforced protrusions around…
