Great pins - drivetrain components

I lost the original pins when I bought a new chain for my bike. These are the same pins that came with the original chain. The pens fit well, I'm happy with the result.

Pros
  • Highest scores for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Damaged

The pins are too loose!

These pins are a bit loose on my Shimano Ultegra chain. Hopefully the vibration from driving doesn't move the stylus. I barely had to press down on the chain tool to set the pin.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Non automatic

It's always good to have options

A must have for any chain repairer. This assumes you are not using the "missing link" solution. It's always good to have options.

Fits perfectly. for chains

I needed this chain link pin after removing my chain. I have 2 chain pullers, 1 in my bike tool kit and 1 to remove the chain from my bike at home - this is the Park Tool. It was easy to install. Watched the video on youtube.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Small Parts

Good to have a few spares

I used a special tool to remove the old pin and replace the new one - it was difficult to align and straighten the new pin - so I have a pair beforehand broken I figured it out - most likely a rookie mistake - but it's good to have some spares -

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • Pretty good

I'm glad I bought 3 packs as I needed it.

Glad I bought the 3 pack as I had to adjust the chain a second time! I can't believe how expensive these little things must be, the packaging with the Shimano name must have put the price up on these things.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No

A must have for your kit because you never know

If you ride with a Shimano 10-speed chain, you must have these Shimano 10-speed chain link pins in your kit. They work with any Shimano 10 speed chain, MTB, road or gravel. I use them with the Ultrega 6701. These pins are used to reconnect your chain after it has been "broken" either to remove the chain and clean it, or if the link is damaged and need to be removed or replaced got to. This is easily done with a chain breaker, a tool for removing and installing chain pins. These pins have a…
