Feel like a quality piece but a bit short.

Looks like the milling was a little short, I had to preload the caliper as it ran on the Shimano (RT66) 203mm disc, but it worked great.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Only available in black

Does not work with Avid Brakes

The picture is not what I received. Didn't work with Avid BB7 brakes either. It needs to be more rounded to accommodate the larger brake. It's a good component but disappointed that it doesn't work for me.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Volume

Shimano makes this more confusing than it needs to be.

Using the 180mm IS/POST adapter on the rear allows 160mm rotors to be fitted. Using the 203mm IS/POST adapter on the tail allows the use of 180mm rotors. It doesn't make sense, but here I'm trying to send the $10 piece back for the right one.

Cons

This product is SM-MA-F180

Attention: This is NOT an adapter for 180 to 203 attachment. The product description says SM-MA-F203 (180mm to 203mm), but the product picture SM-MA-180 shown. The product delivered was SM-MA-180. Item returned (not as advertised) and I wasted 2 weeks to get the correct part.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Many things

Wrong picture! for brackets and adapters

Image not correct for 203mm rod to rod. I had to switch from a 180mm mount to a 203mm mount. What I got is adaptable from a 160mm post mount to a 203mm post mount. Shimano doesn't save the day by making different products with the same part number! So we have to rely on the photos, well, this time the picture is (hopefully) wrong. we return

Fits perfectly on my new rigid fork

I recently replaced the stock Suntour suspension fork on my 29er, Specialized Rockhopper. The Suntour fork had a brake mount, but the new fork used an IS (international standard) mount. The new SOMA Fabrications (Soma fab) fork is an all-steel CrMo MTB fork. I wasn't 100% sure it would fit until I got the fork but I based my purchase on a Google image search and was successful. You can tell this is a piece of aluminum that has been carefully machined to the desired shape and within tolerances.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Fits on

Easy to install - brackets and adapters

I bought a newer post mount disc brake to fit my bike not knowing there are two different types of brackets. This adapter is ideal for mounting a tripod on an IS-Yoke. It is very easy to install. I was concerned about the wide mounting holes, which allow plenty of leeway to adjust brake placement, but I was able to install and adjust them properly the first time. Being an inexpensive design, the adapter saved me a lot of money as post mount brakes are much cheaper to find than an IS mount. I…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
