SHIMANO Housing Stop Down Tube Review

Great Product. Of course, keep in mind that they are designed to be mounted flush with the down tube. I soldered them to the brackets on an old triathlon bike, so I had to use 1/8" square cut rubber washers to fill in the gaps. So far it's working great, so I'm very satisfied. You look good too.

Stoppers are needed to convert a classic bike to modern, ergonomic, handlebar-mounted shifters. Modern shifting no longer takes place on the down tube. This was done with 7 speed rear blocks. Modern 10 and 11 speed bicycle components are controlled by brake levers, which also serve as gear shifts. These parts allow the grommets that previously held the downtube shifters to be converted into shifter cable passages. They work flawlessly and allow you to adjust the mid flow cable.

I upgraded my old 12 speed derailleur and needed to replace the down tube derailleurs. I considered the awkward options of either sanding them down or taking the frame to a weld shop, stripping them and then repainting the frame to hide the heat damage. But these small blocks not only saved me all the time and nerves. but also gave me the cable stops I needed. They are built with the usual Shimano quality and attention to detail (mounting surfaces perfectly match the radius of the gear hubs). I
