Missing parts Good for brake parts

The caliper was ok, I already bought the rear one and it was perfect for my wife's bike. The problem was that the socket head cap screw and cable clamp block were missing. I had to visit 2 bike shops before I found what I needed. Kind of defeats the whole purpose of online shopping.

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • Difficult to say

Brakes perfect, helped with rebuild

Took a MTB with 26" wheels and rebuilt it into a 700cc dropbar road bike. The bike has micro switches for the Nexus8 drive system and needed a good rear brake with good cable routing and reach. This brake met the requirements 100% and the feel was better than expected.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • No performance

Add stopping power to the modern cruiser!

I enjoyed riding my new GT Tripel as I pedaled and learned to stop smoothly with the foot brake, but its inability to stop quickly (compared to a dropbar road bike) made it so me nervous. wanted to add a rim brake to the front wheel for faster stops. The fork has already been drilled to install the caliper. By my standards, a standard caliper wouldn't cut it, but it does. and it was. I installed this brake with Sora lever and Shimano cable and it works fine. Braking power and lever feel are…

Great calipers for old bikes if you can fit them.

These calipers are amazingly strong, they were on my 1970's suburban car and replaced the crappy center pull brakes that were common at the time. The reach is long enough for 27" rims, and when closed they clear my 32mm tires with ease. Unfortunately, these calipers are mounted slightly differently than the older models, which at the rear was a bolt through a steel frame and acorn nut. Bikes with rim brakes now have a flat-bottomed notch at the back of the front fork. The caliper bolt comes out

Pros
  • Working without hands
Cons
  • I'm silent

Great brakes, but prepare for a custom fit

Get a Trek aluminum bike with V cantilever brakes. Because. I wanted this because my cantilever brakes didn't stop well even after changing the pads. After much research I read that the caliper brakes are stronger and more responsive. I didn't want to switch to disc brakes as it felt like overkill. I saw that my frame had a center upgrade hole and decided the Trek holes would be universal. So I went ahead and ordered. Well, here's the good news: The calipers themselves were of high quality and…

  • Ideal for outdoor activities
